In October we were presented a brief by Bolongaro Trevor. We were put into groups and had 3 months to produce a menswear collection for them. We took inspiration from RAF military garments and historically led research into our own families. This proved to be very interesting, we discovered one member of the group had a great-grandfather who was shot down in WW1 and had been taken a prisoner of war, but managed to escape! This was the main inspiration for our collection, we developed letters that had been sent home to his family into prints for coat linings and shirts. We received great feedback from Stuart Trevor at our final presentation, which was great! Last Friday was our fashion show where Bolongaro Trevor announced the winners! My group was very shocked to come 2nd our of 16 groups! It was a great opportunity to work alongside industry and develop my design skills.
